BOTHO, MOTHO, BATHO

This project celebrates South African artist Nelson Makamo while embracing ubuntu and botho. Ubuntu, meaning "I am because we are," highlights community and shared humanity, while botho emphasizes humanness. The project showcases Makamo's powerful art exploring everyday life, urbanism, migration, and community. More importantly, it promotes ubuntu and botho as crucial values for creating a more just, inclusive, and compassionate South Africa.
